Background
Based in the University of Texas at Austin, McCombs School of Business is one of the leading business schools in the United States.
Lead by a top-tier recruiting office, McCombs boasts leading job placement statistics worldwide. However due to pandemic, traditional means of recruitment became a rather impractical way for alumni and professionals to connect with current students due to safety concerns.
Limitations during the Pandemic
In times of the pandemic and ensuing economic recession, students arguably needed recruiting support more than before. However, new public safety guidelines made events like the WP Networking Night and the Tech & Startup Night infeasible to conduct in person. To ensure the health of their students, McCombs needed to find a new way of carrying out their networking events.
McCombs wanted to keep their students safe from the virus while maintaining the quality of their networking events, so they decided to use the Eventus.io Virtual Career Fair Platform.
Virtual Networking with Eventus
To keep their networking opportunities open, McCombs registered for the Eventus solution as a quick, easy, and reliable way to set up their Virtual Events.
Eventus helped power a variety of events for McCombs.
Working Professionals Networking Night
The Working Professionals Networking Night serves as an educational and networking opportunity for current McCombs students to connect with their alumni and learn about working experience and receive career advice. The WP Networking Night makes use of several Eventus features including:
Digital Booths
Working professionals and alumni could use digital booths to share information about their job experience and give students career advice.
Custom Career Profiles
Students were able to seamlessly create networking profiles which included information like their LinkedIn profiles and graduation years so that working professionals could continue to stay in touch.
Dynamic FAQ
Students were able to ask working professionals questions in real time, which in turn made the sessions more proactive.
RSVP management
Students had the ability to RSVP individual or group sessions so that they could have a more involved discussion with a working professional.
Resources Guides
Event-related information was digitalized and put into a resource guide for students to easily access. Such information included FAQs, Career Fair Resources, social media, etc.
Tech & Start Up Night
The Tech and Start Up Night is a semi-annual recruiting, networking, and educational opportunity for students to meet tech and startup leaders who are based in Texas. Here are some of the features that this event used:
Digital Booths
Tech and Startup Leaders could set up booths to provide information about their organization and have an informal chat with the current students of McCombs
Custom Career Profiles
To make networking easier during the event, students were able to create custom career profiles to incorporate things like their resume, linkedin profile, career concentration, etc.
Video Chat Pre-Booking
To streamline face-to-face video chats, students could pre-book video chats with Startup Leaders to build an itinerary for their video chats with recruiters.
Modern Videochat Rooms
Eventus is powered with modern video chat rooms giving a smooth interface for students and Startup Leaders to connect face-to-face.
Booking Reminders
To ensure that video chat appointments were honored, students were given notifications and email reminders for the video chats that they booked.
