The Evolent Health TA team wanted to properly source staff/talent gaps within Evolent Health’s departments and fill these vacancies on a monthly basis.

However, Evolent Health found it difficult to fill their requisitions across several key roles in the company. Talent was scarce, and traditional avenues of outreach like job boards were becoming increasingly expensive and typically didn't account for the large pool of passive candidates.

To remedy this, the talent acquisition team knew that they had to get creative in their TA approach.

Virtual Open House

To accomplish this, Evolent Health hosted a Virtual Open House where qualified professionals could connect with the hiring managers for on the spot interviews.

At the virtual hiring event, hiring managers hosted digital booths that showcased their opportunities. Candidates could directly book a 1-on-1 video chat or drop off a resume at these booths to connect with a hiring manager.

Additionally, candidates were automatically pre-screened to ensure that they had the proper prerequisites to apply for the opportunities.

The Results

At each virtual hiring event, Evolent Health facilitated over a 35+ individual video conversations between their hiring managers and candidates.

Within the first week after the event, multiple candidates were offered positions and subsequent hires were made. Since the virtual fair automatically pre-screened candidates, hiring managers were able to act quickly on their conversations and make offers on the spot to capture talent that may have otherwise gone elsewhere.

Several critical positions in nursing and social worker roles were quickly filled and allowed Evolent Health to efficiently fill their talent pipeline in light of the ongoing competitive labor market.
