Background

Evolent Health was met with the challenge of how to effectively interview candidates in a virtual manner. The talent acquisition team wanted to properly source staff/talent gaps within Evolent Health’s departments and fill these vacancies on a monthly basis.

They tried to piece together a virtual solution for these interviews using both Zoom and Microsoft teams. However, communicating what time a recruiter and candidate were mutually available and then setting up a virtual meeting room was cumbersome. In turn, this proved to be an inefficient use of time. Organizing these interviews would get especially hectic with larger departments like their call center.

The talent acquisition team wanted a smoother, streamlined process for connecting candidates to recruiters, which would save them time while increasing the quality of the interviews.

Streamlined Candidate - Recruiter Matching Process

The Eventus’ Virtual Job Fair platform allowed Evolent’s Talent Acquisition team to host the type of hiring event they needed. They were wanting more of an open house where candidates can come in and book a time slot to speak with recruiters. The Eventus platform comes with a native video solution and is centered around pre-scheduled face-to-face video chats in order to properly streamline the interview process.

Upon logging in for the first time, candidates were asked simple (and customizable) pre-screening questions so that recruiters could save time in making sure the candidate was applying to the proper job opportunities. Additionally, recruiters were able to pre-select the days and times they would be available to interview so that candidates were only booking available time slots in order to minimize no-shows.

The Results

The talent acquisition team at Evolent Health reported that the time they’d spend handling the logistics of the interview was essentially zero after switching to Eventus. This additional time they now have has allowed the team to redirect efforts to other parts of their department’s objectives.

Additionally, by implementing a virtual open house platform, the number of candidates applying increased since virtual interviews increases the scope of candidates that can make an interview.

Lastly, the interviews themselves were of higher quality because the candidates were properly matched to the job opportunities that made sense given their responses to the prescreening questions.
