Background
Similar to most alumni associations, connecting alumni to actively engage with the university, especially during the pandemic, proved to be challenging for the Fuqua School of Business.
As in person events return, alumni reunions or homecomings can be the catalysts that reengage alumni, so the Fuqua Alumni Team wanted to ensure that their first in-person event in 2 years would be a major success. This would set the new standard for all of Fuqua's events moving forward, so hitting a homerun was crucial.
Problem
The alumni association wanted to ensure that lasting relationships with their students didn't just stop upon graduation. That is why Fuqua's alumni reunion was so important as it provided a means to maintain strong ties with Alumni. However, the alumni association team knew the traditional way of managing their reunion event content wasn’t the best way to engage their alumni.
Solution

This was the first time Fuqua used an Event App for their reunion. In doing so, the app enabled the team to digitize all their content in one holistic space that’s easily accessible, from the convenience of a mobile phone.

Better Communication, Better Attendee Experience

Planning for an event means planning for inevitable changes, but ensuring a successful event means properly communicating these changes. Using the push notifications feature, Fuqua was able to properly convey last-minute location changes to all their attendees. For instance, when the late check-in location changed, the Alumni Team was able to quickly ease all confusion before any issue arose with a simple update via push notification.
Whether it was scheduling changes, venue switches, or poor weather causing delays, proper communication resulted in a smoother attendee experience for the Fuqua School of Bussiness Reunion.
